Year 7 Team Building Day Sept 2022

Year 7 Team Building Day to Anderton Centre, Chorley

As a school, we see extra-curricular activities and residential trips as being of immense value and we would like all students to have the opportunity to take part in them.

In September, we will take all of our Year 7 students on an action-packed team building day to provide students with the opportunity of getting to know each other better, develop their skills and to learn more about the vision and values of our school.  This year, we will be going on an adventure with a difference, taking students into the wild and experiencing outdoor activities that they will never forget.

We will be visiting the Anderton Centre in Chorley.  The site is spread across four acres of woodland and has exclusive use of Lower Rivington Reservoir.  The Anderton Centre is very experienced at running activities of this nature and their instructors have received extensive in-house training and nationally recognised qualifications for specialised activities.

Our own staff will also be with the children at all times.  We will leave school at 8:15am on Monday 5th September 2022 by coach, which will take all the children to the Anderton Centre.  Whilst there, students will be immersing themselves in a variety of land and water-based actives such as paddle boarding, team building activities and taking on the challenging of the leap of faith.  We aim to return to school by 4:00pm that same day.

On arrival at the Anderton Centre, we will walk the grounds and the students will be divided into smaller teams.  Each team will be accompanied by a St Anne’s member of staff who will encourage students to reflect on how they work together and will also explain how we expect St Anne’s students to work hard, be respectful and challenge themselves in everything that they do.

The trip is free of charge to all our new Year 7 students as we believe that school trips such as are an important part of a school’s curriculum and will provide our students with wonderful opportunities to build on essential skills that help them grow into confident, independent and successful adults.

We ask that parents and carers review the kit list here as students will be expected to bring along the items identified.  If you require any assistance with any of the kit list, then please do let us know as soon as possible and we will endeavour to support where we can.  Any item marked with an * are available to borrow from the Anderton Centre.

All parents and carers need to complete our academy consent form in relation to this trip. The consent form can be found online via Microsoft Forms please click the link below.

Please note that the form must be completed online by Monday 18th July 2022 in order for your child to go on the trip on Monday 5th September.

If you have any further questions about the trip, please contact Mrs Howard, Year 7 Pastoral Year Leader, on 0161 643 2643 or please email us directly using the email addresses below.
