Year 6 Transition

A message from the Headteacher

Welcome to St Anne’s Church of England Academy, part of The Cranmer Education Trust. We are delighted that your are considering St Anne’s for your child in September 2024. St Anne’s has gone through a great deal of change over the last few years and we now offer our students a really well-balanced curriculum. It is really important to us that both children and parents feel well informed and ready to make the step from primary to secondary school, so that our new students can arrive with the confidence to make the most of the wide-ranging opportunities that St Anne’s has to offer. Our staff are really looking forward to showing you what life is like at St Anne’s at our Open Evening on Thursday 28th September and our transition programme ensures that your child has the very best start in Year 7. I am looking forward to meeting all our prospective Year 7 families very soon,

Mr Heyes
Headteacher

Message from the Pastoral Year Leader

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as your child’s Pastoral Year Leader.

We are looking forward to meeting your child at Open Evening and when they join the Academy, hearing about what they have been doing at home with you and getting to know them. We appreciate that you and your child may feel a little worried about moving up to secondary school, but we are confident that when your child joins us here at St Anne’s, they will feel well supported and part of the St Anne’s family. The transition process gives us an opportunity for us all to get to know one another.

From Primary to Secondary School

We are really looking forward to the prospect of your child becoming part of the St Anne’s family. Preparing for the move from primary to secondary school is very exciting but a little daunting. We work really hard to make sure that every child who joins us feels well prepared. Children joining St Anne’s Academy all have the opportunity to build relationships with us and learn about the next stages of their education. We want to help them secure the best possible qualifications, as well as supporting them to develop their passions, talents and interests and grow to become even more valuable members of the community.

At St Anne’s Academy, we have taken huge steps to ensure students come through our door as a Year 7 student ready and prepared for secondary school life. We are currently working with a number of our primary schools in the local area with students from Year 6. The work we do is vital in making the transition from primary to secondary education and building their confidence.

If you have any questions please email [email protected] or you can contact us at the Academy on 0161 643 2643.
