Summer School 2023

This year, we delivered our annual summer school programme to our new year 7 cohort. Over 100 of our new Year 7 students attended Monday to Friday to experience our curriculum, get to know peers and staff and take part in a range of fun, interactive activities. This also gave students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with our building before they joined us full time in September.

Our range of activities was extremely broad and there really was something for everyone! We offered the following activities:

Maths

English

Science

Drama

Dance & Sport

Personal development/ Circle time

‘Party Animal’

Cookery

Students particularly enjoyed taking part in the talent show and their session with the Party Animal. Many took the opportunity to handle animals and critters to face their fears and as a result, grew in confidence!

On the last day, student feedback was taken, the cohort felt that Summer School was a huge success and feel that the experience made them feel ready to join Secondary school, allowed them to make new friends and familiarised them with their new surroundings.
