Anti-bullying policy

St Anne’s Academy has a zero tolerance approach to bullying. The Academy is a place where every student is entitled to feel safe and steps will be taken to deal with all incidents.

The Academy’s Anti-Bullying Strategy has a step by step approach to tackling bullying:


1. First Instance of Bullying

2. Second Instance of Bullying (if problem not resolved)

3. Third Instance of Bullying (if problem not resolved)

4. Fourth Instance of Bullying (if problem not resolved)

Offender receives a fixed term exclusion
Offender receives a formal warning from the police under the Harassment Act
The Harassment Act allows for one verbal warning and if harassment continues then the offender is arrested, charged and taken to court.
Note: There is no facility for the offender to receive a “caution” from the police under the Harassment Act.
